Yilma Seleshi is a civil engineer from Addis Ababa University with a master degree in hydrology and a PhD in applied sciences-hydrology from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He has been an associate professor in water resources engineering at Addis Ababa University since 2007. He designs water resource management projects related to hydropower and irrigation. His research interests are rainfall variability and predictability and its impact on water resources in Ethiopia, spatial hydrological variability, river water quality, and rain water harvesting for water supply. Yilma Seleshi is a member of the Ethiopian Association of 138 Civil Engineers and has been working in Ethiopia, Rwanda, Sudan, Egypt and Yemen for the last ten years.
